You may be wondering what happened to St. Bernard Software. We want to assure you we are still here - bigger and better than ever - but with a new identity that more accurately represents our company and strategies going forward.
The acquisition of Red Condor in 2010 added comprehensive Messaging Security to our solutions offering and a name change that would encompass our Secure Content Management portfolio was a natural next step.
We are now doing business as EdgeWave. As our CEO Lou Ryan put it when we announced the new name earlier this year, "The company has evolved dramatically over the past 12 months, and we are rebranding ourselves to reflect our broader mission that builds on our strong web and email security foundation."
Our name isn't the only thing that has changed - we've greatly enhanced our technical support services, allowing us to respond more quickly to our customers and deliver a broader range of technical expertise and assistance. We have also reorganized some of our departments and moved our corporate headquarters to a new, more efficient building, helping us to focus our resources as well as cut costs. The results are a more streamlined and productive organization allowing us to better serve our valued customers and introduce our exciting Secure Content Management solutions to new markets.
Q. What is EdgeWave's history?

EdgeWave began as St. Bernard Software in 1995, and was best recognized for delivering Open File Manager™, a software solution for backup packages that insured the protection of data in motion.
In 2000, St. Bernard acquired and released UpdateEXPERT™, a popular patch management software that helped IT administrators keep their OS systems running smoothly. During the same year, St. Bernard acquired Internet Products, and entered the Web filtering market with the iPrism Web Filter, the award-winning secure content management solution that is our flagship product today.
In 2006, St. Bernard acquired Singlefin, a provider of managed security and business services. As a result of this acquisition, the company introduced LivePrism, a hosted email, instant message (IM) and Web filtering solution. The company also helped to pioneer hybrid security technology with the introduction of a unique hybrid platform that combined high-performance appliances, software, and hosted security solutions. In July of 2006, St. Bernard completed a merger with Sand Hill IT Security Acquisition Corporation and became a public company, trading under the ticker (OTCBB: SBSW).
Over time the company's product portfolio included a variety of security solutions including open file management, patch management, Web filtering, email filtering, and hosted services. In order to focus our resources, we decided to divest some of our legacy products so we could focus our resources on Secure Content Management, a successful strategy that resulted in the iPrism brand becoming a leading vendor in our space.
In 2010, St. Bernard acquired Red Condor, an award-winning provider of fully managed email security solutions. The acquisition was a natural extension of our product portfolio and business strategy, allowing us to enhance our existing hybrid security offering while expanding a cloud-based service platform into ISP/MSP markets.
In 2011, we reached a new milestone, officially changing our name to EdgeWave, and introducing our portfolio of SCM solutions including our award-winning iPrism Web Security solution and a comprehensive Messaging Security Suite for end-to-end email protection.
