iPrism v5.0 iARP - iPrism Automatic Rating Protocol

iARP stands for "iPrism Automatic Rating Protocol". This feature provides the following benefits for Proxy and Transparent mode environments:

Note: to enable this feature, go to Filter Manager Send unrated sites to iGuard, and check Send unrated URLs to iGuard Automatically (see below), which will activate the remaining  E-mail options.

URL Submission Cycle

Data for surfed but un-rated URLs is collected for 7 days, then iPrism v5.0 sends the un-rated URL data to the iGuard team, and emails the iPrism Administrator the list of un-rated URLs. The iGuard team rates the URLs and a confirmation email (including the new ratings) is sent to the iPrism Administrator within the next 7 days. An iPrism Filter List update will include the newly rated URLs. At the end of the 14 day period (or sooner if the confirmation email and Filter List update go out earlier), the URL collection, submission, notification cycle begins again.

Note: At the end of the 14 day cycle, if a confirmation email has not been received, then an exception email is sent to the iPrism Administrator to indicate a new 14 day cycle is beginning.

Using Filter Manager to

This feature updates the Filter Manager, adding a "Send unrated sites to iGuard" link.

The link provides access to configuration information (read-only at this time). The information below indicates that unrated URLs will be sent automatically, that request sent and response received emails should be sent to the Admin E-Mail Address. The "here" link at the bottom allows the iPrism Administrator to rate sites manually that were "un-ratable" by iGuard. Un-ratable sites may occur because they look public but are private, or can only be accessed through a login page, for example.

You may select one or more (or all) un-ratable items ...

... re-rate them into a category ...

... and click Finish to update your Custom-Filter list.

If you change your mind, you may return the items to the un-ratable list by checking them and deleting them, and optionally re-rate them to another category if you wish.
