There are 4 kinds of ports changes or assignments to know about:
Proxy Port defines a port number (3128 by default) to be used by client browsers directing traffic to iPrism.
Configuration Port defines a port number (80 by default) to be used for accessing iPrism Web Administrative interface. When the default port value (80) is used, you do not need to specify the port value in the URL. This port change does not affect use Appliance Manager (Java Administrative interface).
Important: Proxy Port & Configuration Port can be changed, but must not be the same value. Port values can be any value between 1 and 65535. However, lower port numbers 1-1024 are well-known Internet port numbers that are generally considered reserved. We recommend you use higher port numbers unlikely to be in use by another application.
If you change Configuration Port, you will be able to access the iPrism Web Administrative interface only by including the port number in the URL:
http://IP address:configuration-port (for example, http://192.168.10.100:8080)
or
http://name:configuration-port (for example, http://iprism.domain.com:8080)
Proxy Mode HTTPs Ports - 443 & 563 are supported by default, allowing access to most secured sites. Adding ports to this list is done to support additional secured sites using non-standard port assignments.
Transparent Mode Redirect Ports - most often used to specify the port of an upstream web proxy server being integrated with iPrism. See:
How do I integrate iPrism with an Upstream or Parent Proxy?
Note: Use theAdd button, the Port field (see below), and Ok to update the Transparent and/or Proxy Mode lists shown below.
