Director of New Business

San Diego, CA

To manage and lead the new business inside sales and lead generation team including Account Executives and Sales Development Reps. Reaching goals by hiring, training, and coaching sales staff to develop their selling skills, build sales pipelines, and maintain a hands-on role through every sale’s process to closing. The Director of New Business reports to the VP of Sales and is an individual contributor in addition to a team leader.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage lead generation and new business inside sales teams
  • Manage lead generation process (manage leads and distribute)
    • Ensure that the sales pipeline remains full and grows with qualified leads & prospects
    • Work with Marketing on campaigns to help generate leads
  • Meet and exceed monthly and Quarterly sales goals
    • Provide individual contributions
  • Monitor employee productivity and motivate team to reach daily dial goals
    • Manage phone system
  • Ensure accurate and complete information is captured in Salesforce
    • Provide data quality checks weekly
  • Conduct employee interviews, onboard training/set-up, and hire/terminate staff

Requirements and Experience

  • 5 years’ sales experience (at least 2 years in B2B, SaaS)
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and/or equivalent education/experience
  • 3-5 years’ management experience
  • Proven experience increasing year-over-year revenue
  • Proven track record growing and developing a sales team to achieve further success
  • Significant experience selling into small to mid-market as well as Enterprise level companies
  • Understanding of CRM tool (Salesforce)
  • Experience in a Cyber Security environment a plus
