EdgeWave, a leader in data security solutions to enterprise and service provider markets,
announced today that the company has completed its SSAE 16 Type II certification, achieving a rare 100 percent pass rate across 156 different inspections. The SSAE (Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements) 16, which replaces SAS 70, is an internationally recognized third-party assurance audit designed for service organizations and establishes data protection, privacy, confidentiality and reporting standards.
“The successful completion of this external audit is evidence that the integrity of our operating procedures and the quality of our technology is world class,“ said Ian Thompson VP, Technical Operations at EdgeWave. “The confidentiality of our customers’ data is of the greatest importance to EdgeWave, as is maintaining the trust and confidence of the markets we serve.”
The audit, conducted by independent service auditor Squar Milner Inc., determined that EdgeWave’s technology, business processes, physical security, and infrastructure controls meet or surpass SSAE 16 standards. This certification is of particular importance to EdgeWave’s financial services and healthcare customers, who demand secure and repeatable processes in order to meet specific industry and compliance requirements.
A pioneer in internet security, EdgeWave has provided email and web security technology for more than 15 years. Every day, thousands of enterprise customers and service providers trust EdgeWave to manage and secure their users and data from emerging internet and mobile threats. With SSAE 16 Type II, these same customers are assured that their data is thoroughly protected and secured by EdgeWave.
